SCOEN strives to advance the rights children and equality for girls, young women now and for generations. Our vision is for Children, women and girls in East and Northern Uganda to have equal access, opportunity, and influence in all aspects of their public and private lives.

To realize this vision, the organization engages people and partners to:

  • Empower children, young people, women and communities to make vital changes that tackle the root causes of discrimination against girls, women, exclusion and vulnerability.
  • Drive change in practice and policy at local, national and global levels through our reach, experience and knowledge of the realities children face.
  • Work with children, women, and communities to prepare for and respond to crises and to overcome adversity.
  • Support the safe and successful progression of children from birth to adulthood.

 Our programme focus

SCOEN’s works with partners that help us reach our goals in the following areas:

  • Youth economic empowerment
  • Quality and inclusion in early childhood development and primary education
  • Strengthening child protection systems
  • Maternal new-born and child health, Adolescent health
  • Community based water, sanitation and hygiene.

Our priority is to work with children, young people and communities to tackle the root cause of discrimination against girls, exclusion and vulnerability.

Ensuring children and young people exercise their rights as citizens so they can express their views and influence critical decisions that affect their lives.

Economic security

Working to ensure that families in extreme poverty have the skills they need to increase their income and can access financial services.
